DREW BRHEL proudly continues his relationship with Third Avenue Playhouse, appearing this summer in two productions: Red and Candide. TAP’s 2016 Artist-In-Residence, Drew spent last Summer and Fall in Door County appearing in Isaac’s Eye, Madame Sherry, and The Gin Game. Other rôles at TAP include Matt Friedman in Talley’s Folly, Bellomy in The Fantasticks (both summer of 2014) and Frank in 2013’s Educating Rita. Drew makes his home in Milwaukee, where he most recently played Major-General Stanley in Skylight Music Theatre’s production of The Pirates of Penzance. Other favorite rôles include Herr Schultz in Cabaret (also with the Skylight); Herr Mann in The Clockmaker, Herr Biedermann in The Firebugs, and Ira in Laughter on the 23rd Floor (Next Act Theatre); Saunders in Lend Me A Tenor, Porfiry in Crime and Punishment, Emil in Three Viewings, and Richard Greatham in Hay Fever (Milwaukee Chamber); several rôles in different iterations of A Christmas Carol (Milwaukee Rep); and many years of classics (Falstaff, Bottom, Jacques, Polonius, Lear, Aguecheek, &c.) with Shakespeare companies from coast to coast. And finally – last winter he fulfilled a career-long ambition: Sheridan Whiteside in The Man Who Came to Dinner, which he performed as a Guest Artist with the theatre department of the University of Oklahoma City. Thank you to Bob, James, and Ryan; and as always, big fat fatherly love to Maggie.
