Dear Friends of TAP,
It’s been another extraordinary year of growth for Third Avenue Playhouse. As our audiences increase, we’ve also increased our staff by welcoming Amy Ensign as our very busy – and productive – Director of Marketing and Development. By year’s end we will have produced nine shows, ranging from Katherine Duffy’s unforgettable performance in THE AMISH PROJECT to the fascinating drama ISAAC’S EYE, not to mention our surprise hit MADAME SHERRY, a 1910 musical you’d be hard pressed to see anywhere but TAP! Ending the year on an appropriate note will be Alan Kopischke in JACOB MARLEY’S CHRISTMAS CAROL.
We are extremely proud that last year’s I LOVE A PIANO appeared on the 2015 Top Ten Wisconsin Theatre list in The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. We’re even prouder that TAP was the only Door County theatre to be so honored!
Our StageKids educational program thrived this year. Classes in acting, film, and playwriting, plus productions of the riveting THE LARAMIE PROJECT and the holiday show THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER attracted students of all ages from throughout Door County.
In February we will present a Festival of Play Readings that promises to deliver an eclectic batch of plays performed by a gaggle of gifted actors. March brings Sam Shepard’s TRUE WEST featuring Door County favorite Doug Mancheski and popular Milwaukee actor Jonathan Wainwright in his TAP debut. In May we offer the world premiere of VELVET GENTLEMAN, a multimedia theatre piece celebrating the life and music of eccentric composer Erik Satie created and performed by James Valcq. Our summer/fall season will be announced in January.
By popular demand, we will continue offering TAP’s Inner Circle to recognize and thank those generous donors who choose to support us with cash gifts totaling $1000 or more in a calendar year. Members of TAP’s Inner Circle will receive special recognition, access and perks exclusive to its members including:
- Recognition on a special donor display in the lobby
- A TAP keepsake designed and crafted by renowned glass artist and TAP board director Jeremy Popelka
- A complimentary TAP VIP card entitling you to ticket discounts
We ask that you consider joining this special group of essential supporters to help TAP continue its remarkable growth and enhance our ability to educate, provoke and entertain audiences in an intimate setting.
We hope you will include us in your annual giving. Please know that every contribution, regardless of the amount, goes to both sustain and grow this unique organization. We simply would not be able to provide theatre, concerts and classes year-round to the residents and visitors of Door County without your continued support.
Everyone here at the Third Avenue Playhouse wishes you the happiest of holidays.
