June 30th – July 23rd
By Lucas Hnath
Directed by Robert Boles
ISAAC’S EYE is a fantastically brilliant and fresh new play by Lucas Hnath, one of the most produced young playwrights in the country today. The Chicago Sun-Times called ISAAC’S EYE “ingeniously imagined, surprisingly passionate and deliciously satisfying.” The Chicago Tribune called it “smart, stimulating and fast-moving.”
This amazingly creative new work playfully presents the 17th Century world of Isaac Newton in a completely contemporary and wildly theatrical setting. A battle between two great intellects (with egos to match) results in an entertaining evening of theatre that pulses with wit, humor and tension.
Featuring this year’s artist-residence, Drew Brhel (Talley’s Folly, Educating Rita) along with Kay Allmand (The Glass Menagerie, Steel Magnolias) and Dan Klarer (Santaland Diaries, Greater Tuna). Making his Third Avenue Playhouse debut is Jared Davis in the role of Isaac.
