Paulette Laufer is a former playwright-in-residence at Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA, for three premieres there: Eagle River; Taking My Life in Your Hands; and Donna Q. She received several script commissions from The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to create stage adaptations for young and family audiences. The Kennedy Center production of her adaptation of Little Women (from the book by Louisa May Alcott) toured nationally and was subsequently produced by other theaters including The Coterie Theatre (Kansas City, Mo.) and Nashville Children’s Theatre. She is a previous recipient of a one-act play commission from Actors Theatre of Louisville, and her one-acts have been presented in Hartford, Chicago, and San Francisco. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild.
